Audience: contacts and lists
Everyone who interacts with your work in one place: subscribers, enquirers and buyers, organised into lists you can mail.
Contacts
Your audience lives under Audience in the dashboard: everyone who has interacted with your work. Contacts arrive automatically when someone enquires about a work, signs up through a form on your site, or is recorded as a buyer, and you can add people yourself with Add contact (email, name, phone and notes).
Filter tabs split your contacts into All, Subscribers, Enquirers and Buyers, and you can search by name or email. A contact who unsubscribed from your emails carries a badge, so you always see who is reachable.

Importing existing contacts
Bringing an existing mailing list into Kreativ takes a CSV or Excel file:
- 1
Click Import on the Contacts page (or in a list's menu, to import straight into that list).
- 2
Upload your CSV, XLSX or XLS file.
- 3
Map the columns: point Kreativ at which column holds the email (required), first name, last name and phone. A preview shows the result before anything is saved.
- 4
Confirm. The result screen shows how many contacts were added, skipped or had errors, with a reason per problem row.
Old sign-up sheets from openings, Instagram DMs, an export from another newsletter tool: as long as it has an email column, it imports.
Lists: three automatic, plus your own
Lists group contacts for targeted campaigns. Kreativ maintains three system lists for you, updated automatically based on activity:
- Personal updates: everyone who subscribed through a signup form on your site. Your newsletter audience.
- Enquiries: everyone who sent an enquiry about a work.
- Buyers: everyone recorded as a buyer in a work's sale details.
Your own lists
Next to the system lists you create your own with New list in the sidebar, for example VIP Collectors or Press contacts. Give it a name and an optional description, then add contacts from your audience or import into it directly. A contact can be on several lists at once.
System lists cannot be renamed or deleted, but you can add and remove members manually, for example adding paper sign-ups from an opening to Personal updates.
Unsubscribes and honest mailing
Every campaign email carries an unsubscribe link automatically. When someone uses it, they confirm on a simple page and are marked as opted out: campaigns skip them from then on, and their badge in your contacts shows the state.
Removing someone from a list is different from unsubscribing: removal takes them off that one list (useful for someone added by mistake), while unsubscribing stops all campaign email to them.
